Cold Wax Resist is another way to create solid areas of resist on cloth, but it does not crackle like a true batik wax. It comes as a liquid, which you then paint or stamp on your fabric in the areas that you want to retain the original color of the cloth. Allow the cold wax to dry and then you paint your dyes, such as Colorhue Dyes (if working on silk or rayon), in the surrounding areas. If using other dyes, they must be appropriately fixed. The cold wax rinses out very easily in warm water. Cold Wax Resist is water soluble, and therefore, is not appropriate for immersion dye baths.
